Building Beyond Therapy Inc. is committed to providing quality internship opportunities to students pursing their Masters degree in Social Work and Mental Health Counseling. We serve a wide variety of clients with different life experiences and mental health needs, however, we specialize in Perinatal Mental Health. Building Beyond Therapy Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting the mental health needs of individuals, families and/or couples. The Clinician will play a crucial role in providing therapeutic services, assessments, and support to individuals and families. An interest and/or training in Perinatal Mental Health is strongly desired, but not required.

Location: Remote & Hybrid Positions Available, Flexible Scheduling

Position Type: Full-Time & Part-time positions available

Employee Class:  Contractor, no benefits

Responsibilities:

  • ‍Maintain professional licensure and/or certification throughout employment with this agency

  • Maintain‌ ‌professional‌ ‌competence‌ ‌and‌ ‌skills‌ ‌via‌ ‌training‌ ‌and‌ ‌continuing‌ ‌education

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date confidential clinical documentation in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards

  • Assess clients' mental condition based on review of client information, interviews, observation, assessments, and collaboration with other staff members

  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on diagnosis, clinical experience and knowledge 

  • Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences/supervision, and professional development opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.

  • Current licensure as a mental health professional (LCSW-C/LMSW, LGPC/LCPC, LMFT, or equivalent).

  • Active professional license in Maryland or D.C. (both encouraged but not required)

  • Specialized training or experience in perinatal mental health (preferred but not required)

  • Strong clinical assessment and therapeutic skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with clients from diverse backgrounds

  • Demonstrate flexibility and superb organizational skills

  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and culturally sensitive practices
